Dortmund agree Batshuayi deal

Chelsea striker and Sevilla-target Michy Batshuayi has agreed a loan deal with Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund, say reports.

The BBC and various English media outlets confirm initial reports from Bild that the Belgian international will join the Bundesliga club to replace Arsenal-bound Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Dortmund were reported to have wanted Arsenal striker Oliver Giroud as part of the deal which would see the Gabonese striker join the North London club.

However, Giroud is said to have opted to stay in London as Aubameyang’s transfer edges closer with the 23-year-old Chelsea striker set to be his replacement.

Batshuayi netted twice in Sunday’s 3-0 victory at home to Newcastle United in the FA Cup on Sunday but has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge this month.

The striker had been heavily linked with a move to Sevilla in this transfer window, although the Andalucians have since signed Everton striker Sandro Ramirez on loan for the remainder of the campaign.
