Preview: Alaves-Sevilla

Sevilla boss Vincenzo Montella will be looking for his first Liga win when he takes his side to Alaves on Sunday.

Alaves boss Abelardo Fernandez on his team’s chances against Sevilla: “We’ll see if we can catch them on a bad day.

“If we only dedicate ourselves to defending and see little of the ball, it’s logical that Sevilla will win.

“Sevilla? They have some very technical and forward-thinking players. They’re a well-prepared team.

“It doesn’t matter who we play because we still have to prepare with the right mentality, going for them and knowing the difficulties they pose.”

Sevilla boss Vincenzo Montella on his side ending their recent poor run: “I’ve seen an improvement.

“It’s clear that we’re not playing with continuity for 90 minutes, but we’re confident that everything is going to get better.

“Sevilla’s rivals are Sevilla themselves. We have to focus on ourselves and stay on our path.

“I’m an optimist by nature, we’ll improve by working hard and I’ve seen improvements in my players, even if they’ve been small.”
