Betis, Getafe chase Alanis

Real Betis and Getafe are set to do battle to land Mexican international defender Oswaldo Alanis, who is out of contract this summer.

The 28-year-old has spent three seasons at Guadalajara but looks set to leave this summer, with Estadio Deportivo stating both La Liga clubs wish to land him this year.

“We have fixed (our problems with) Alanis but he has already flown to Spain to negotiate and he will move there, it is done, I am sure of it,” Guadalajara president Jorge Vergara told Futbol Picante.

The Mexican club signed the central defender, who can also play on the left, for €4.4m in 2015 and he has spent his entire career in his native country, for whom he has won 20 caps.

It is unclear if a move could be advanced to January or whether the clubs will wait until making a move in summer for free.
