Athletic Bilbao defender Yeray Alvarez has played his first football match in seven months after his second return from testicular cancer.
Yeray played in an Under-23 club for the Basque club against Swansea City on Wednesday night in Wales in his first appearance since the 2016/17 campaign.
The central defender has twice fought cancer successfully in the past year, most recently undergoing a course of chemotherapy, while his Athletic teammates showed solidarity with the 22-year-old by shaving their heads.
Yeray made 33 appearances for the Basque giants last year despite his season being disrupted by the first diagnosis, and a first-team return is now expected in the New Year.
