Real Betis may attempt to sign Celta Vigo striker John Guidetti in January due to the long-term injury to Antonio Sanabria, say reports in Spain.

The Swedish striker has not started a La Liga match this season following the arrival of striker Maxi Gomez in summer, with the Uruguayan netting seven times in 14 starts.

Gomez was then heavily linked with a €20m move to the Chinese Super League but this transfer has now reportedly broken down, with El Desmarque now reporting the Swede is keen to leave.

The 25-year-old is now a transfer target for Betis who, despite the return of all-time record goalscorer Ruben Castro in January, want a new striker due to a long-term injury to the in-form Sanabria.

Sergio Leon is the only fit striker for Quique Setien’s side at the moment.
