Preview: La Real-Las Palmas

Las Palmas will reportedly sack Pako Ayestaran if they suffer a ninth straight defeat in La Liga to Real Sociedad on Sunday.

La Real boss Eusebio Sacristan on facing the struggling islanders: “I see it as a match that needs a lot of attentiveness, concentration and intensity.

“They’re not in a good way, so they’ll want to change their situation. Therefore, we’ll have to be very vigilant and play in a way so that we deserve to win.”

Las Palmas boss Pako on playing for his future: “I try to isolate myself by not reading anything.

“I don’t read or listen to anything, even when I’m winning. Success and failure invade your life and ultimately you have to treat them with the same disregard.

“Now we’re starting with the humility of knowing that we’re in a bad situation because we’re not doing well.

“I imagined that this could happen, but I have a lot of self-belief, I think I’m capable and the players don’t deserve six straight defeats.”
