Preview: Villarreal-Las Palmas

Villarreal can make it three straight wins under Javi Calleja with victory over Pako Ayestaran’s leaky Las Palmas in Sunday’s early kick-off.

Villarreal boss Javi Calleja on rotating his squad: “I have faith in the team and my squad to make the necessary changes.

“Las Palmas are a dangerous side, who will be wounded after their recent results.

“They have great individual qualities and some top players, and although they’re not doing well in the League, you can see that they’re capable of beating anyone in any match.”

Las Palmas boss Pako Ayestaran on tightening up at the back: “It’s not about being more defensive but making less mistakes at the back.

“Doing things that go against the characteristics of your players doesn’t work.

“Players can be positioned in different ways, but we have to find our own way, based on our characteristics. It’s not about defending more.”
