Preview: Betis-Alaves

Real Betis will be looking to return to winning ways in La Liga when they host lowly Alaves on Saturday.

Betis boss Quique Setien on the threat posed by Alaves: “It’s true that maybe we can establish certain parameters for each team we face, but I don’t usually notice where our opponents are in the table.

“I always tell my players that we’re facing the best [version of our opponents] and we need to do things properly.

“Alaves are a sincere team, hard-working and tough to score against. It’s true that they’re down the bottom, but it’ll still be difficult, as much as it can be against any other team or like it was against Levante, when the first half was complicated.

“Alaves will work hard defensively and be dangerous on the counter because they have players with quality and strength.”

Alaves boss Gianni De Biasi on his side needing to believe: “We must be focused because in football, you can win or lose by details.

“We must believe that we can get the three points. We’ve been working on keeping the ball, but to improve in this regard, we must be well positioned on the pitch.

“The road is still very long, but we have a game to get three points from and we must have the conviction that we can do it.

“Betis have attacking plays, so we must be smart tactically and take our chances.”
