Mikel Balenziaga says Athletic Bilbao will be going all out to win when they take on Ostersunds in Sweden on Thursday.
The defender [pictured, right] is aware a win is crucial to keep alive Los Leones’s hopes of qualifying from Group J of the Europa League, where they have taken just one point from a possible six, and victory over the group leaders would go a long way to achieving that.
“We know we must go out from the first minute to try and take all three points as it will mean a lot to us for our future in the competition,” Balenziaga told a Press conference.
“Our opponents are a team that already has six points, having won away at Zorya and at home to Hertha Berlin, so they’ll want to add another three points.
“They are playing at home and it will be a difficult match due to the conditions: the long journey, the artificial pitch, the cold…
“But we are training to get used to that and it won’t be an excuse. All Europa League matches are tough and our future in this competition depends on these three points, although they are not definitive.”
