Preview: Girona-Villarreal

Villarreal will be looking to make it back-to-back victories on Sunday when they face Girona, who are without a win in five.

Girona boss Pablo Machin on what he wants from his team: “Each of your opponents demand you to mix up your style of play.

“Still, we have to be loyal to our style and dominate the match. We have to know how to counter the strengths they have, without limiting our game.”

Villarreal boss Javier Calleja on the threat posed by the Catalans: “They’re not an easy team to face Girona because they’re doing things rightly.

“I expect a tough and complicated match. The idea is to keep growing and improving with each game.

“The idea is to be ourselves on any pitch. It’s true that our approach may sometimes depend on the rival and their characteristics, but not so much the basis of their playing style, which is what we need to consolidate.”
