Real Madrid have announced that defender Raphael Varane has extended his contract with the club until 2022.
A statement on Madrid’s official website reads: “Real Madrid C.F. and [Raphael] Varane have agreed to extend the player’s contract, which will see him remain at the club until June 30, 2022.
“Tomorrow, Thursday, at 2pm [CET], Varane will appear before the media in the Press room of the Santiago Bernabeu stadium.”
The 24-year-old joined Los Blancos from RC Lens in 2011 and has gone on to make 196 appearances for the side, winning two La Liga titles and three Champions Leagues.
