Getafe have continued to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season with the signing of Real Sociedad midfielder Markel Bergara.
The 31-year-old made 205 appearances for La Real across 14 seasons at the club, but featured only six times last season as he was phased out by Coach Eusebio Sacristan.
The Basque-native joins the newly promoted club in a one-year loan deal with an option to buy of €1m inserted in the move.
"When I heard that there was strong interest from Getafe it was an easy decission, it has always been a tough opponent when I played against them,” Bergara is quoted as saying by Marca.
“I'm attracted to the city and I am delighted; I know it will be difficult because I have been at one club for so long but I am eager to adapt.
“I want to be a regular in the first-team and I want to achieve the goals we have set out of maintaining our top flight status.”
