Andres Iniesta has insisted Ernesto Valverde is ‘the right man to drive Barcelona forward’ following his appointment from Athletic Bilbao.
Valverde ended his second stint at the Basque giants earlier this year to move to the Camp Nou and has also enjoyed stints in charge at Valencia, Olympiakos, Villarreal and Espanyol.
“The club always works with the best options, therefore he (Valverde) is the right man to drive Barcelona forward,” Iniesta told reporters.
“Then the only other thing is the players and we have to show on the field what is required from us.
“Obviously he is capable of motivating us, and as with every season we have new wishes and new targets, trying to win new things.
“The only thing that will never change at a club like Barcelona is the demand to win every tournament we play in.”
