Eibar goalkeeper Yoel Rodriguez has been ruled out for six months after rupturing ligaments in his knee while running, it has been confirmed.
The 28-year-old was out running in the mountainous area of his native Pontevedra in Galicia and will now undergo surgery, although he is unlikely to be back in action until 2018.
Yoel made 25 La Liga appearances at the Ipurua Municipal Stadium last season on a loan deal from Valencia, before joining the Basque club on a permanent transfer for €750k last month.
The Vigo-native spent six years at Celta Vigo before joining Los Che in 2015 following a loan spell, but only ever made one league start at the Mestalla.
