Oltra hails ‘ambitious’ Granada

New Granada Coach Jose Luis Oltra has hailed the ‘ambitious project’ at his new club as he insisted promotion back to the top flight is the objective.

The former Deportivo, Mallorca and Cordoba boss was appointed at Los Carmenes earlier this month and will seek to bring El Grana back to La Liga at the first attempt.

“I’ve joined an important club with a great project, it’s a tremendous challenge,” Oltra told the club’s website.

“This is a marvellous city, an extraordinary club with a great structure and we must all row in the same direction to achieve our objective – which is simply to achieve promotion.

“We want the fans to be excited and to know this is an ambitious project, although we ask them for patience and unity, because it is a difficult division and one in which every slightest detail is going to be very important.

“I have my ideas about football, but depending on the players we have, we can talk with more certainty about how Granada will play.

“I want a balanced team, both attacking and defending. We need to build a solid squad and I have the utmost confidence in (sporting director) Manalo Salvador in that regard.”
