Valverde agrees Barca terms?

Athletic Bilbao boss Ernesto Valverde has reportedly agreed a two-year contract to become Barcelona’s next Coach.

According to El Correo, an agreement was finalised on Sunday morning for Valverde to “fulfil one of his dreams after two previously-failed attempts”, despite a clause that allows either Barca or the 53-year-old to pull out before May 31.

Furthermore, Valverde would be succeeded at Athletic by B-team trainer Jose Angel Ziganda, who coached Osasuna in La Liga between 2006 and 2008.

The publication concludes by stating the appointment will be made official on May 29, two days after the Copa del Rey Final.

Valverde is considered to be a proponent of Barca’s possession style and played for the club between 1988 and 1990, winning a Copa and Cup Winners’ Cup as part of Johan Cruyff’s ‘Dream Team’.
