Preview: Leganes-Alaves

Alaves can secure an eighth-place finish in La Liga with victory over fellow promoted survivors Leganes, in their last game before the Copa del Rey Final.

Leganes boss Asier Garitano on ‘enjoying’ his first game after guiding the team to safety: “No, I’ve enjoyed many of them. It’s going to be different because we’ve already achieved our objective.

“We’ll play calmly but with the necessity of having a great game against an incredible team, who are a week away from being able to win a trophy [the Copa del Rey].

“We want to win because it’s not the same to be 16th as it is 17th, and we’re going to give [this game] all the importance in the world.”

Alaves boss Mauricio Pellegrino on his side’s aspirations: “The team want to finish eighth in the League and we’ll compete tomorrow against Leganes in the best way possible.

“Games like these are the best way to reach the best condition for our last match.”
