Michel’s Malaga march on

Malaga won their sixth game in seven against a much-changed Celta Vigo side who have their full focus on Thursday’s Europa League.

Javier Ontiveros opened the scoring for the hosts before Jose Recio doubled the lead from the penalty spot and striker Sandro netted a third late on.

19-year-old Ontiveros found the net in the 26th minute after a mazy run and dribble before Sandro was felled in the box, allowing Recio to deservedly double the lead.

Former Barcelona forward Sandro continued his fine recent goal scoring form to add a third late on.

Michel’s men now move into 11th position in the league standings, leapfrogging Celta Vigo who have now lost their last four La Liga outings.

Next up for the Andalucians is a trip to Real Sociedad while Celta travel to Manchester United in the return leg of their Europa League semi final on Thursday night, before visiting Alaves.
