Raphael Varane and Isco start for Real Madrid against an Atleti side with Lucas Hernandez at right-back in tonight's Champions League semi-final first leg.

Injuries to Juanfran Torres, Sime Vrsajlko and Josema Gimenez force Atleti into a defensive reshuffle as Hernandez moves out to the right of Los Colchoneros’ back four.

The visitors’ other change sees Nico Gaitan make way for Yannick Carrasco on the left wing.

Madrid, meanwhile, bring the newly-fit Varane into the heart of their defence, while Isco’s inclusion marks a switch to a 4-4-2 diamond.

Los Blancos eased to a 3-0 win at the Vicente Calderon earlier in the season, but Atleti salvaged a 1-1 draw when the sides last met here a month ago.

More importantly, however, the hosts triumphed against their city rivals in the 2014 and 2016 Champions League finals.
