Leganes make survival stride

Leganes recorded their first league win in eight to take a massive step clear of relegation with Wednesday’s 3-0 victory over Las Palmas.

A second-half double from Luciano Neves, the second from the penalty spot, either side of Miguel Guerrero's goal saw Leganes halt a four-game losing run and record a vital victory, one which confirmed Osasuna’s relegation from the top flight.

Los Amarillos have the second worst away record in the division, better only than Granada, with just one victory and six points on the road all season.

Leganes have now moved six points clear of 18th-placed Sporting Gijon with only four matches remaining.
