Malaga end away woes

Malaga secured their first away win in over a year to move away from the relegation battle and plunge Sporting Gijon further into the bottom three.

Sandro Ramirez netted the only goal of the game five minutes before the break after good work from Keke to earn Michel’s first win as Malaga Coach since replacing Marcelo Romero last month.

Los Boquerones last win on the road came at Real Betis on March 19 2016, a run of twenty La Liga fixtures, and now ensures Eastern Andalucian rivals Granada are now the league’s only side not to taste victory on the road this season.

The win moves Malaga into 15th and eight points clear of Sporting Gijon, who remain 18th with only eight matches remaining of the campaign.
