Malaga’s winless run on the road in La Liga has now stretched to over a year but they earned a valuable point in a tense clash at Leganes.
The two sides began the match separated only by one point and immediately above the relegation zone, but despite the Costa del Sol side earning their first point under new Coach Michel, they have now extended their longest winless away streak in their history.
Neither side created a clear cut opportunity throughout the game as they largely cancelled each other out, with defences on top throughout.
Leganes have now won eight points from their last five games – including wins over Deportivo and Granada – losing only once, while Malaga have only won once in 17 across all competitions.
Asier Garitano’s side stay 17th and five points above the drop zone, while Malaga leapfrog Depor into 15th one point further ahead.
