Celta Vigo brought an end to their recent run of defeats with a comfortable 3-0 win to pile the misery on basement club Osasuna.
Goals from Pione Sisto, Jozabed and Iago Aspas secured victory for the Galicians to end a tumultuous week-and-a-half which saw them lose their Copa del Rey semi-final, suffer a late league defeat to Atletico Madrid and be edged out 1-0 at home by Shakhtar Donestk in Europe.
Danish forward Sisto fired Eduardo Berizzo’s men into a first-half lead after a defensive mistake from the visitors but it wasn’t until the 87th minute that Jozabed – on loan from Fulham – doubled the lead before Aspas added a late third, his twelfth league goal of the campaign.
The victory sends Celta into ninth and just two points behind Athletic Club in seventh, with a game in hand. Still bottom, Osasuna sit eight points from safety with only one league victory all campaign.
