Jose Manuel Jurado has bizarrely claimed that he time-wasted when he was substituted against Real Madrid, despite Espanyol being 1-0 down.
Madrid youth product Jurado was in no rush to leave the Santiago Bernabeu when he was replaced by Alvaro Vazquez with 10 minutes remaining.
However, Espanyol were already a goal behind at that point, leaving many Periquitos fans on Twitter furious with the former Watford midfielder.
“I walked off slowly because we were 1-0 down and we hoped to draw at the end,” he said after the game, which his side lost 2-0.
Espanyol boss Quique Sanchez Flores was similarly not best pleased with Jurado’s conduct.
“Players must be focused at all times. I prefer not to give my opinion on that detail,” noted the Coach.
