Pablo Piatti insists helping Espanyol means more to him than individual accomplishments after his wonder winner at Malaga on Saturday.
Piatti’s strike from 25 yards out secured a 1-0 win for Espanyol at La Rosaleda, their third victory on the bounce, and the attacking midfielder says he takes great satisfaction out of such contributions.
“We found the goal in the first half and after that we lived with that profitability, although the whole team were able to sacrifice themselves,” he said after the game.
“My goal? Anything to help the team makes me very happy. This is the way forward and we have to keep working hard.
“Our next game? It’s complicated. Real Sociedad are a great team to play, but we’ll be playing in front of our fans.”
