Sergio Busquets insists Barcelona’s 2-1 defeat to Alaves in La Liga on Saturday was “unfair”.
Barca were accused of rotating too many players and lacking rhythm in their shock reverse at home to Alaves, but Busquets disagreed with such assessments, putting the result down to the new boys simply taking their chances.
“Clearly it wasn’t our best game,” the midfielder said after the game.
“They were much more effective and won, but I think it was an unfair defeat because they didn’t do more than us to win.
“The calendar is like this for all the teams. We all know that these things happen, so it’s no excuse.
“We have a big squad and the Coach is one that decides who plays, it’s nothing more than that.
“He made the changes that he considered most appropriate for the team.
“We have to recover as soon as possible and remember that we’ve only just started the season and there’s a lot of the League ahead.
“On Tuesday we have Celtic in the Champions League.”
