Messi and Suarez were involved for their respective countries in 2018 World Cup qualifiers during the international break, the Argentine having picked up a knock to his pubis, so Paco Alcacer is free to make his Barca bow up top and Neymar appears for the first time this season.
Elsewhere, Jasper Cillessen also debuts between the sticks as Marc-Andre ter Stegen is injured and Jeremy Mathieu surprisingly starts in central defence, while Aleix Vidal and Lucas Digne are the full-backs, with Sergi Roberto dropped and Jordi Alba a substitute.
