Madrid target four September extensions

Real Madrid are hopeful of announcing new long-term contract extensions for four star players this month.

According to Cadena Ser's El Larguero programme, the club are working hard on prioritising deals for Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale, Luka Modric and Toni Kroos.

Unsurprisingly, Ronaldo is seen as the priority – his deal expires in 2018 but he has already commented that he wishes 'to retire at the club at the age of 41'.

Los Blancos are also keen to extend current deals for Bale (2019), Modric (2018) and Kroos (2020) as they are mainstays of the team who the club want to build around in the next few seasons.

The show also stated that the club wants Portuguese defender Pepe – out of contract at the end of the current campaign – to sign a new deal, but this is not seen as a priority at the moment.
