Real Betis Coach Gustavo Poyet has received a two-match touchline ban for disrespecting officials.
The Uruguayan is said to have repeatedly shouted, “Never come back, we always lose with you!” at referee Carlos Clos Gomez following his side’s goalless draw with Deportivo La Coruna last weekend.
Gomez included the incident, which took place outside the Estadio Benito Villamarin dressing rooms, in his match report.
It has since been found to have breached article 117 of La Liga’s disciplinary code, which concerns ‘attitudes of contempt or thoughtlessness towards referees.’
As such, former Sunderland manager Poyet will not be in the dugout for Betis’ matches with Granada and Valencia.
