Zenit St Petersburg Coach Mircea Lucescu admits his player Ezequiel Garay wants to move to Valencia.
Los Che have been heavily linked with the 29-year-old in recent days, with club director Kim Koh having told a group of fans that the defender is ‘on his way.’
In an interview with Romanian media outlet Dolce Sport, Lucescu confirmed that the Argentine wants a return to La Liga, where he has previously played for Real Madrid.
“The will of Garay is to go back to Spain, to Valencia,” confirmed the Zenit boss.
“It is a question of costs. The player arrived at Zenit two years ago, who spent a lot of money on him then.”
Valencia are poised to bring in Eliaquim Mangala but also want Garay as they look to bolster Pako Ayesteran’s defensive options on transfer deadline day.
