Villarreal new boy Roberto Soriano reveals that once he heard of the Yellow Submarine’s interest, he ‘didn’t hesitate’ to accept.
Soriano was presented to the fans on Wednesday evening after completing a €14m move from Sampdoria, and the Germany-born Italy international spoke of his excitement at moving to La Liga.
“I’m very excited by the challenge of playing for Villarreal and in La Liga. To play for a team like Villarreal and in a League like Spain’s is a great challenge. I want to thank the President and the club for making this opportunity possible,” he said, AS reports.
“It’s a great challenge and opportunity to play for five years at Villarreal. Once I knew Villarreal were an option, I didn’t hesitate and from that moment I knew what I wanted. I hope to play in the Champions League, a competition I haven’t played in. To do that we’ll have to do things in the best way possible, which won’t be easy.”
