Barca, Madrid to raid Newcastle?

Barcelona and Real Madrid have each been linked with swoops on Rafa Benitez’s Newcastle – the former for Ayoze Perez and the latter, Moussa Sissoko.

AS reports Barca interest in Ayoze as they continue to search for a striker, the 23-year-old said to be available for around €18m and fitting the profile desired by La Blaugrana.

Ayoze is capable of playing wide in the attack or through the middle and it’s thought he would be willing to act as support for Luis Enrique’s regular front three, Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar.

Barca were interested in Ayoze in 2014, when he joined Newcastle, after a prolific season with Tenerife, but he chose the Magpies in a €2m transfer as Barca wanted him for the B team, not the first team.

Madrid, meanwhile, are linked to Sissoko as an alternative to Paul Pogba, who could take Manchester United’s offer though it’s reported Los Blancos have approached Juventus for Pogba.

AS cites the British Press in claiming Madrid interest in Sissoko with a €35m fee mooted and after Newcastle’s relegation from the Premier League last season, it’s believed the France international is looking for a way out.

Juventus, Borussia Dortmund and Everton are also linked with the 26-year-old, who impressed for Les Bleus at Euro 2016.
