Villarreal have confirmed the signing of Alexandre Pato from Corinthians and the striker will sign a four-year contract.
The Yellow Submarine announced the deal on their official website but a statement from Corinthians insisted the fee won’t be announced publically.
Sevilla had been linked with a late swoop for the former Milan forward but he will be presented by Villarreal on Monday evening.
As well as Milan, Pato has also represented Internacional of Brazil, where he started his career, and has had loan spells at Sao Paulo and Chelsea, ending last season at Stamford Bridge.
Pato also has 28 caps for Brazil and it was noted when the move was first mooted that he fits Villarreal’s criteria for a forward signing in the mould of Roberto Soladado as someone who can relaunch his career at El Madrigal.
