Atletico Madrid have confirmed the arrival of attacking midfielder Diogo Jota from Pacos de Ferreira on a five-year contract.
A deal for Jota was struck back in March, but the transfer window has since reopened for business, allowing Atleti to officially announce the 19-year-old’s signing.
“Being part of such a great club makes me feel proud,” he told Atleti’s official website.
Sporting director Jose Luis Caminero added: “He’s a young, very quick and forward-thinking player, with great ball control and an ability to open up defences.
“Diogo has a lot of potential and is noted for his one-on-ones and versatility as he can play in various positions.”
Jota becomes Atleti’s third summer signing after Nicolas Gaitan and Sime Vrsaljko.
