Garitano staying at Leganes

Leganes have announced the renewal of Asier Garitano, the Coach who took the Madrid club into the Primera for next season.

AS reports Garitano has signed a two-year extension having clinched two promotions in his three years on the bench at Butarque.

Garitano’s deal is structured as one year plus the option for one more and he has also had his wages increased as a result of the club’s ascension to La Liga.

The 46-year-old was mentioned as an option for a number of clubs in Spain looking for a new Coach this summer, AS adds, but his intention was always to stay with Leganes.

Leganes have in turn promised to bolster his squad and make a good effort towards avoiding immediate relegation, and his coaching staff have also had their terms improved as well.
