Quique Sanchez Flores has been confirmed as Espanyol’s new Coach on a contract to 2019.
It was on Thursday reported that the former Watford manager was close to being announced as Los Periquitos’ replacement for Constantin Galca and he was indeed revealed to be the new trainer, around a month after leaving his last posting.
Espanyol’s official website says the ex-Getafe, Valencia, Benfica and Atletico Madrid man will be presented to the media on Monday, and the make-up of his backroom team will be announced in the next few days.
A Spain international in his playing days, the Madrid-born 51-year-old turned out for Valencia, Real Madrid and Real Zaragoza as a right-back, and had been linked with the soon-to-be-vacant bench at Sevilla.
