Jose Luis Mendilibar is pleased to have signed a new contract with Eibar and hopes for a repeat of the team’s 2015-16 success.
Mendilibar replaced Gaizka Garitano at Ipurua this time last year and guided the Basques to a mid-table finish, Eibar having been relegated last season but saved by Elche’s financial implosion.
“I’m very happy. Now we have to work hard to meet our objectives. Slowly but surely we’re planning to complete the squad now and to reach our top level in August so it’s possible to start by winning games. If we can do similar to last season, that would be good,” he said, AS reports, after penning the one-year extension.
“It’s always better to have a complete group and not start almost from scratch like last season. I hope that those who remain help the new people.”
