Jonas Eriksson has been reported as the referee for the Champions League Final between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.
AS cites Cadena COPE as claiming Eriksson will officiate the Madrid derby, the second time in three years the sides have met in the final, on May 28 in Milan.
Eriksson’s last game involving Los Blancos came in the semi-final of last year’s competition, when Madrid drew 1-1 with Juventus and exited the tournament in the last four.
Not since April 2014 has he refereed an Atletico game, when he had the whistle for the 0-0 draw between Los Colchoneros and Chelsea at Vicente Calderon.
Indeed, neither side has ever lost when Eriksson is in charge, Madrid winning twice and drawing once and Atletico taking a win and a draw.
As also notes Eriksson officiates as a hobby, as he amassed a personal fortune through investments in a company involved with sports marketing.
