Jose Luis Mendilibar has warned Eibar that they must tighten up defensively when they welcome Levante to Ipurua in La Liga on Sunday.
A run of three straight defeats, with 10 goals conceded in that time, has seen Los Armeros fall away in the race for a top-six finish, despite sitting just two points behind Athletic Bilbao, and the Coach demanded a swift improvement for the visit of his former club.
“We lost three games in a row,” he acknowledged at a Press conference.
“The games didn’t reflect our performances, such as the defeats to Athletic Bilbao and Atletico Madrid, but they scored against us and we must work on that.
“In our last three matches, the goals we’ve conceded have been similar, from set pieces or crosses, and we’ve defended them badly.
“To improve in these areas, we’ve worked on them in our preparation training.
“We were strong defensively in the first round, so we have to improve.
“We have to be prepared to defend. We’re conceding goals too easily and we have to change that.”
