Feghouli: Valencia hard to explain

Sofiane Feghouli is at a loss to explain why Valencia are struggling, but wants the whole club to be pulling in the same direction.

Feghouli has been interviewed by Algerian publication La Gazette du Fennec with Valencia-based outlet Super Deporte picking up his comments, starting with Los Che’s awful season.

“It’s hard to explain, the reason. I think it’s small details that have made this a very complicated season,” he began.

“The numbers say it’s the worst season since I’ve been at Valencia. We need efficiency, that’s what’s been missing. We should have been 2-0 ahead against Sporting Gijon.

“That day we just didn’t score. We missed five clear chances then conceded a penalty because of a mistake of youth. It’s time for solidarity.

“There are players with potential and, additionally, we’re fortunate to have a support that sustains us. We have to give everything on the field because this is a big club. Valencia aren’t in their right place and everyone has to give their best to raise the club to the right level.

“We’re all responsible – directors, coaches, players, they’re the main actors.”
