Real Madrid won’t return money to fans who bought tickets to see the Copa del Rey second leg against Cadiz, it’s reported.
AS cites El Confidencial as claiming Madrid aren’t paying back the ticket money as they view their expulsion from the Cup for fielding an ineligible player as akin to being knocked out by losing a game.
Madrid were expelled from the tournament after playing Denis Cheryshev in the first leg, despite the winger having a one-game ban to serve from last season, when he was on Villarreal’s books.
Appeals to be reinstated have thus far failed but the socios who had already but their second leg tickets are said to be unhappy the club are refusing to issue refunds.
