LIVEBLOG: Real Madrid v Real Sociedad

Football Espana has live coverage as Real Madrid round out 2015 with the visit of Real Sociedad to Santiago Bernabeu.

It’s been a tumultuous 12 months in the capital as Madrid missed out on the title to Barcelona and had to watch as the Catalans succeeded Los Blancos as Champions League winners.

Carlo Ancelotti was sacked at the end of the season to be replaced by Rafa Benitez, but Benitez goes into the fixture with the Basques under pressure.

Madrid are third in the table prior to the New Year round of games, two points behind leaders Barca and, despite thrashing Rayo Vallecano in their last home outing, Benitez doesn’t appear to have the support of the fans amid rumours the players and President Florentino Perez have their doubts too.

La Real changed Coach earlier in the campaign, removing David Moyes after a year and hiring Eusebio Sacristan and have 16 points from their first 16 games.

The Basques went into Christmas on the back of a 2-0 defeat to Villarreal and remain only two points above the bottom three.
