Champions League qualifiers confirmed

The draw for the Champions League Round of 16 takes place on Monday with La Liga’s three representatives all in Pot 1.

Real Madrid, Barcelona and Atletico Madrid ended the group stage as winners of their respective mini-Leagues and, as a result, can’t play the likes of Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Chelsea, who also won their groups.

The Spanish trio also can’t play the team they faced in the group stage, and with country protection still in force, can’t face each other either.

That does mean, however, that Atletico or Barca could be drawn against Paris Saint-Germain, who came out of Group A with Los Blancos.

And any of the three could be paired with Juventus, who were in Group D with Sevilla, or Arsenal, who beat Olympiacos 3-0 on Wednesday night to guarantee their place in the next round.

Pot 1: Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, Wolfsburg, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Zenit St Petersburg

Pot 2: Paris Saint-Germain, PSV Eindhoven, Benfica, Juventus, Roma, Arsenal, Dynamo Kyiv, Gent
