‘La Real have to stand up to Barca’

Yuri Berchiche wants to see Real Sociedad stand up to Barcelona when the sides meet this weekend but acknowledges the fierce form of the Catalans.

Barca put four goals past Real Madrid in their last Primera outing and hit Roma for six days later in the Champions League, but the left-back told a Press conference that La Real are picking up their momentum too.

“If Barca can put six past Roma…We have to go to Camp Nou with the same attitude we displayed the other day at Anoeta,” he said, Marca reports.

“It’s going to be very difficult but we go there with a little more confidence. We’ll do everything possible so they don’t feel at ease.

“We’ll have to use all of our weapons to try and get something positive. But we saw how lost Roma were. Barca come at you from all angles. Anything can happen in a match.”

The game will be Eusebio Sacristan’s second in charge and Yuri commended the former Barca coaching staff member for his work so far.

“The other day in the second half we could see what he wanted. The difference with Eusebio is he likes the goalkeeper as another player and we saw that,” Yuri continued.

“It’s been two weeks with these ideas. We try to control the ball and press when we lose it. It didn’t go as we wanted with David Moyes.

“Eusebio likes the full-backs to get high up the pitch. I’m trying to enjoy it and I’m happy. We have to keep working.”
