Coke: The sky’s the limit

Sevilla full-back Coke is ready to play out of position in the UEFA Super Cup and predicts prolonged success for Unai Emery’s side

Emery’s defence has been hit by injury and illness and Coke could be drafted in to a central role against Barcelona, and he told the Press he has no complaints if that is what happens.

“If I have to play centre-back, it’s for the team. There’s a title at stake,” he said, Marca reports.

“We have a lot of respect for Barca but this is our second consecutive UEFA Super Cup. We deserved to lose last year. I hope this year we do enough to win.

“Last year we set out to qualify for the Champions League. We did it. The sky is the limit for us.”

Coke was also asked about former teammate Ivan Rakitic, who will be in the Barca XI in Tbilisi.

“I spoke to Rakitic for five minutes. We speak every day. We’ve talked about the game, but nothing serious,” he revealed.
