Jimenez near to West Ham move

Raul Jimenez is waiting on a work permit to allow him to complete a move from Atletico Madrid to West Ham.

AS reports the Mexico international, who moved to Atletico from Club America a year ago, is one of two strikers Hammers Coach Slaven Bilic is looking to sign.

The Premier League club are set to be without forwards Enner Valencia and Andy Carroll for a matter of months and Jimenez is part of the solution.

West Ham and Atleti came to an agreement a few days ago, it’s said, but Jimenez hasn’t been granted a work permit.

The Londoners are said to have held doubts Jimenez would meet eligibility requirements but AS point out special permission can be obtained if the player is judged to be of ‘exceptional talent.’
