Bacca happy at Sevilla

Carlos Bacca insists life is so good at Sevilla that his family want to live in the city when he retires from football.

The Colombian international is in Florence for Sevilla’s Europa League semi-final second leg clash with Fiorentina on Thursday, and took time out to tell AS how content he is in Andalusia, despite constant reports linking him with a move away.

“I’m under contract at Sevilla and the only thing I’m thinking of is ending the current campaign.

“My first choice will always be Sevilla because my family is happy there and you can’t put a price on that. In fact, my wife wants to live there when I retire.

“The affection shown by the people on the street is amazing and that’s another reason I want to stay, although it’s not in my hands.

“It’s up to the club and whether [boss] Unai Emery wants me or not, or if they receive an offer they can’t refuse.”

Bacca says it was a dream come true for him to be able to come and play on a different continent.

“Brugge gave me the opportunity to come to Europe and I was playing in a League I knew nothing about, but it was a chance for me to leave Colombia.

“It was a dream and I knew it would be the springboard for me to play in some of the big Leagues against the bigger clubs.

“When I was 21 I was in the Venezuelan Second Division and now here I am with Sevilla in Spain’s top division.

“I think the scale of what I’ve done will only hit me when I’ve finished playing but right now I’m just enjoying it.

“It’s difficult for your brain to consider these things and if I stop to think about it maybe I wouldn’t be here now,” he concluded.
