Atletico Madrid have confirmed that midfielder Saul Niguez has signed a contract extension with the club.
The 20-year-old has penned a new deal that will keep him at the Vicente Calderon until June 2020, adding a further year to his existing contract, explained the club on their official website.
“Saul has made his way through our youth system from the Under-12s to make the first team squad, where this season he has consolidated his position by making 32 appearances and scoring four goals,” read a statement.
The club also added that Elche-born Saul is also an international at every youth level for Spain and is currently captain of the Under-21 side.
