Jemez rues lack of Rayo decisiveness

Rayo Vallecano boss Paco Jemez said his team were not decisive enough in front of goal during the 2-0 defeat to Sevilla.

First-half strikes from Vicente Iborra and Daniel Carrico put paid to any Rayo aspirations at the Sanchez Pizjuan, although Jemez claimed that on the whole he was pleased with his players’ performance.

“Today we played against a great Sevilla team who were only better than us in their assertiveness,” maintained Jemez at a Press conference.

“I’m satisfied with how we played but in football you can’t win anything if you are not decisive enough and that’s why Sevilla took all three points.

“We were unfortunate to have a goal disallowed five minutes after half-time and I don’t know why it wasn’t given as the defender put the ball into his own net.

“I couldn’t see it very clearly from the bench but maybe it was because of offside.”
