Celta Vigo defender Gustavo Cabral has urged his teammates to be ambitious and try to finish in a European place this season.
The Galicians ensured top-flight football at Balaidos next term with a 1-0 victory at Eibar on Sunday, but Cabral has called on Eduardo Berizzo’s team not to rest on their laurels and attempt to bridge the four-point gap to Malaga in seventh spot.
“We must be determined and try to finish seventh because that would be just reward for all our efforts in La Liga this campaign,” the Argentine told a Press conference.
“We’ve managed to achieve top-flight safety but we shouldn’t relax and must go out to win all our remaining fixtures.
“The idea is to go game-by-game and hope that both Malaga and teams such as [other challengers] Athletic Bilbao slip up.”
